Because of a few beardy gits... everyone elses fun was ruined. That's the way of the modern world, isn't it? Just because some people play like children, doesn't mean all 40k players have to be treated like 12 year olds who are incapable of playing fairly. I am also aware that 12 year old's will in all likeleyhood be beardless, but that's a different matter.

A Chaos Lord should have more options than:
Power Fist or Power Weapon?
Bolter, Combi-bolter?
Terminator armour?
Mark of Chaos?

It's actually a good bit more than that, but still, you get my point. It's like Speccing up a Dell, compared to building a PC yourself. (and yes, I know I own a Dell Laptop... don't point that out) There isn't even a Lieutenant entry available anymore... which was handy if you wanted some sort of a HQ choice in a game this size. To kill the beardy bastard, they removed any way to add some decent juicy flavour to an army. The Wargear pages may be 5 pages long, but at least  half of that is made up of artwork, and the rest of somewhat pointless descriptions with very little juicy meat. Goddamned this Codex was a waste of my time and theirs.

It makes me SO mad.

Passionate!

How do you feel about the situation in Congo, so?

Actually, in the interests of not polluting this thread, I'll just say this.

You're trying to complain about your codex in the presence of Imperial Guard players.

* Dartz needs something to bitch at right now. And a Chaos Codex is as good as anything.  Of course, Leman Russ heavy bolters being considered main weapons, rabblerabble...

on that note, while i do think s4 is a bit cack for defensive weapons, im glad they dropped the strength of the defensive weapon classification. .that, combined with the skimmer rules, made eldar tanks play like proper eldar tanks from the fluff. that is to say, an unkillable transport with enough guns to drop a land raider and have dice left over, or gun the engines to move 36" a turn.

ah well, at least the crystal targeting matricies are gone. so deliciously broken....

and I'm just glad Tau skimmers get free landing gear.

It's such an obvious idea, every skimmer should have them. Though I guess Imperial types and Eldar just figured "what, our skimmers getting immobilised? It'll never happen"

Well in fairness the concept of "landing" is pretty new fangled, and the cost of retrofitting an entire company of tanks/falcons/land speeders would be prohibitively expensive...

What is this skimming you speak of?

All righteous vehicles trundle upon tracks of sturdy plasteel.

Or gore stained brass polished to a high shine with bone-powder and guardsman's blood.

Ah the newest Chaos book is great, plenty of selection for a fully customisable army.

As for vehicles all real vehicles walk across the battlefield crushing things with claws, or ripping things apart with swords, and spitting on everything.

eldar skimmers work on anti-grav technology and according to the fluff can actually fly pretty damn well too. if one of them is immobilised its like a plane crash more than anything, everyone is pretty much screwed.

I've been meaning to start an Eldar army for a while because of the awesomeness of the Falcon models.... but if the guard get their Valkyrie... that may be put on hold again.
